Rao’s Hollywood has announced it has closed its doors. After the closure, more than 75 pieces of high-quality restaurant equipment from the location will be sold through a nationwide online auction hosted by RestaurantEquipment.Bid, the largest online marketplace for pre-owned restaurant equipment.

“Closures like this create an opportunity for independent restaurant owners and foodservice operators to access premium equipment at a fraction of the cost,” said a spokesperson for TAGeX Brands, the parent company of RestaurantEquipment.Bid. “Through RestaurantEquipment.Bid, we’re able to extend the life of these assets while helping entrepreneurs across the country equip their kitchens with high-quality items.”

Auction Details

• Auction Open: The auction opened for bidding on March 13, 2026
• Auction Close: Items will begin closing on a rolling basis on Monday, March 23rd, 2026, at 10:00 AM (PT)
• Pick Up Date: Thursday, March 26th, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (PT). Note: Appointment must be made to facilitate pick up.

Rao’s first opened in New York City in 1896 and became famous for its classic Italian food and hard to get tables. The Hollywood location opened in 2013 and served popular Italian classics for over a decade. After 13 years in Los Angeles, the restaurant has now closed.
